It’s a harsh reality a simple visit to the doctor can, for an elderly person, be a stressful and hazardous matter. There are concerns about transport, mobility and even the right support the person requires.

We now offer the assistance of a retired registered professional nursing sister with her own transport, who can accompany the elderly or infirm on visits to doctors, dentists etc. Barbara qualified as a Nursing Sister at a major hospital and was schooled in the real and vitally important requirements of patient care and empathy. After gaining extensive Ward experience, she was appointed as Sister In charge of a large hospital day care centre, which she managed for 10 years. Barbara understands patients concerns & needs.

Transportation for the elderly is available in the Cape Town City Bowl, Bantry Bay and Green Point areas. Barbara can collect the patient from home. If required, we can provide a walker, wheelchair, leg extenders and medical cushions or supports to make the journey more comfortable. Barbara’s priorities are the safety and welfare of the patient.

Furthermore, the patient’s family can rest assured knowing that Barbara is experienced in advising and supervising the patient’s prescribed daily / weekly medication requirements and will liaise with the patient’s families either in South Africa or abroad.
